Abstract (2. Language):
Anterior fixed bridges are expected to fulfill the phonetic. Junctional and esthetic requirement of the patient. The abutments and pontics should not be harmful to the adjacent teeth and surrouding tissues. Optimum distribution oj occlusal forces is an important factor in achieving this goal. In this research, the forces transmitted to the abutment teeth and to mucosa has been investigated on three dimensional photoelastic models to find out the biomechanical effect of the force transmission of different anterior brid¬ges. In the photoelastic analysis, vertical forces are applied to the models of two differently planned bridges of two missing central teeth, when the cross-sections of the models has been studied, it is concluded that increasing the number of the abutment teeth has a positive effect on force distribution.
