In this study, effects of hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) on extraction wound healing have been investigated in Wistar Albino rats by giving % 100 oxygen at 2.5 ATA for 2x90 min every day. Results were compared with normobaric oxygen (NBO: % 100 oxygen at 1 ATA 2x90 min) and normobaric air inhalated groups. Comparison of this groups show that HBO treatment provided better wound healing during early period. On the contrary the latter period healing was unsignificant when compared to other groups.

Bu çalışmada, hiperbarik oksijenin (HBO) Wistar Albino sıçanlarda çekim yarası iyileşmesine olan etkisi, günde iki kez 90 dakikalık 2.5 ATA % 100 oksijen verilerek deneysel olarak araştırıldı. Sonuçlar normobarİk oksijen (NBO: 1 ATA'da 2x90 dakika % 100 oksijen) ve normoba-rik hava solutulan gruplardan elde edilen sonuçlar ile karşılaştırıldı. Histopatolojik incelemelerde, yara iyileşmesinin HBO grubunda erken dönemlerde önde gittiği, ileri dönemlerde, diğer gruplarla aralarında fark kalmadığı saptandı.
