In this study the retention potential of two different fissure sealants and their efficacy in caries reduction is investigated in vivo İn 174 caries free first permanent molars. "Del-ton" was placed in 68, "Helio seal" was placed in 74 permanent molars and 43 permanent molars were observed as control group. After 6 and 12 months control preiods the teeth were examined and the results were evaluated statistically. There was no statistically significant difference in retention between two sealants and different jaws, but the sealants were effective in reducing caries (p<0.001).

Bu çalışmada 174 çürüksüz birinci büyük azı dişinde iki ayrı fissür Örtücünün kalıcılıkları ve çürük önlemesindeki etkinlikleri in vivo olarak araştırılmıştır. 68 dişe "Delton", 63 dişe "Helio seal" uygulanmış, 43 diş ise kontrol grubu olarak bırakılmıştır. Dişler 6 ve 12 aylık kontrol süreleri sonunda fissür örtücü kalıcılıkları ve çürük önlenmesi açısından istatistiksel olarak değerlendirilmiş, kalıcılık açısından kendi aralarında ya da çeneler arasında anlamlı bir fark oluşturmadıkları, çürük önlenmesi açısından etkin oldukları gözlenmiştir (p<0.001).
