Abstract (2. Language):
The aim of this study is to present current developments and strategies on CCA production and use in the United States (US) and European Union (EU). It is evident that the phase out or limited use of CCA wood preservative in the near future introduces some important problems into the wood preservation industry. First of all, new and alternative wood preservative systems need to be developed and tested for durability and toxicity issues. Therefore, the wood preservation industry in Turkey should follow current developments and regulations in the US and EU and prepare for alternative solutions and transition.
