Tadashi Suzuki, who has been well appreciated in our country by his productions Dionysus and Ivanov, has pertained to a privileged place in the world theatre concerning his theatre which has been nourished by the dynamics of a society which has experienced the disastrous outcomes of a great war and the pangs of Westernisation and is still experiencing the conflicts between the traditionalism and the modernity in many aspects of the daily life. In this paper which studies the theatre of Suzuki, who performs the masterpieces of the Western Drama in an acting style which he himself has improved, Suzuki‟s strategies of dramaturgy are being focused and his basic principles of acting methods which he has improved are being attempted to be conveyed viewing the atmosphere in which the director was born, the dynamics of his culture and his contrary and parallel attitudes towards the traditional aspects of the modern Japanese theatre.
