Abstract (2. Language):
The ultrasonic energizing of the irrigant was known to have a eated numerous physical effects tliat aid tiie dehriding action of the endosoniefde. Primary among these are cavitation, heating, and acoustic streaming. It has been claimed that ultrasonic activation of sodium hypoclilorite warms Hie solution, an action that is advantageous since it has been shown that warming, this irrimnt wil imbrove its tissue-dissolving and antibacterial activities. Furthermore, it is obvious that excessive heating of the irrigant could have deleterious effects on the beriodontal tissues In this studv tembe-raturedianges inside the root canal and at the external root surface were measured by cîıromel versus alumel thermocouple durinp. tlie ultrasonic irrigation with indium hvbnrhln-rite. Continuous flow of irrigant and intermittent irrigant flush tested as the ultrasonic irrigation methods. While continuous flow of irrigant caused both the internal and exfernnl tembemfııre in fnll in the intermittent terhnimip ZmZmtereinTrZsewJs^ nally and 41 °C externally.
