In the present study, the relationships between the maturation stages of cervical vertebrae and adolescent growth spurt and skeletal ages have been investigated on the cephalometric head and hand-wrist films of 57 female subjects with 9 to 17 years old. All the subjects had normal growth and development. Maturation stages of the cervical vertebrae were determined on the lateral cephalometric head films, and the adolescent growth spurts and skeletal ages on the hand-wrist radiograms. As a conclusion, it has been found that a statistically significant relationship existed between the vertebral maturation stages and adolescent growth spurt, and that the skeletal ages showed a parallel increase with the maturation of cervical vertebrae.

Bu çalışmada, 9-17 yaşlan arasında, normal büyüme ve gelişim gösteren 57 kız çocuğunun, lateral sefalometrik ve el bilek filmleri Üzerinde servikal vertebralann olgunlaşma safhalan ile pubertal büyüme atılım safhaları ve kemik yaşı arasındaki ilişküerincelendi.Vertebral olgunlaşma safhalan lateral sefalometrik filmier üzerinde pubertal büyüme atılım safhaları ve kemik yaşı ise el-bilek grafıieri üzerinde değerlendirildi. Uygulanan istatistiksel analizler sonucunda, servikal vertebralann olgunlaşma safhaları ile pubertal büyüme atılım safhalan arasında önemli düzeyde bir ilişkinin olduğu ve kemik yaşının, vertebral olgunlaşma safhalanndaki artışa paralel birartjg gösterdiği bulundu.
