As a scientific and professional service, guidance and counseling has recently become an irreplaceable in educational system. Having services grounded on evidence in this area will help to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the practices. In this respect, it is important to investigate the issue to understand whether the school counseling services are based on evidence. That’s why; this study aims to investigate the school counselors’ opinions about the evidence‐based school counseling practices. In the study, semi‐structured interview technique is used. The sample of the study consists of 23 school counselors working in Ankara. Descriptive and frequencies analysis are used to analyze the data. In results, it is found that school counselors determine the practices of the service according to the needs of the students and generally use the interview technique to find out these needs and most of these participants think that evidence‐based practices are advantageous.

Bilimsel ve profesyonel bir hizmet olarak psikolojik danışma ve rehberlik hizmetleri günümüzde eğitim sürecinin önemli ve vazgeçilmez bir boyutu haline gelmiştir. Bu alandaki çalışma ve uygulamaların bilimsel sürece ve kanıta dayalı olarak yürütülmesi, hizmetlerin daha etkili ve verimli olmasını sağlayacaktır. Bu bağlamda okul psikolojik danışmanlığı alanındaki uygulamaların ne derece kanıta dayalı olarak yürütüldüğünün ve kanıta dayalı uygulamaların etkililiğinin araştırılması önemlidir. Bu nedenle bu araştırmada, okul psikolojik danışmanlarının kanıta dayalı okul danışmanlığı uygulamaları hakkındaki görüşlerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Ankara ilinde görev yapmakta olan 23 okul psikolojik danışmanı oluşturmuştur. Toplanan veriler betimsel ve frekans analizi yöntemleri kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir. Araştırmada elde edilen bulgulara göre genel olarak rehber öğretmenlerin okulda yürüteceği çalışmaları öğrenci ihtiyacına yönelik belirledikleri, ihtiyaçları belirlemek için görüşme yöntemini daha çok kullandıkları ve kanıta dayalı uygulamaların avantajlarının olacağını düşündükleri belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda okul danışmanlığında kanıta dayalı uygulamaların kullanılmasına yönelik öneriler geliştirilmiştir.
