Abstract (2. Language):
In this study, electrolytically etched alloy frameworks were bonded to 40 young permanent and 40 primary teeth etched for 60 or 120 seconds, and the retention is evaluated by shear strength tests. It hs found that there were no significant differences in the breaking loads and in the types of bond break values obtained in the both etched young permanent and primary teeth for different time intervals. Furthermore, it is obser ved that the most failures were occured in the resm-enamel interface, and the electrolytic etching technique applied has been determined to be sujjicient enough for the retention of the specific alloy used. The retention bond strength values obtained in this study support the application of etched casting resin bonded bridges as a restoration method for both the young permanent and primary dentition.
