Abstract (2. Language):
Trolleys were one of the rail transportation systems In Istanbul. With the foundation of Dersaadet Trolley Company, trolleys were in service, first of all with horses and then run with electricity. Nevertheless at the beginning of the XX. century the chaos that the empire was in, was felt in the transportation systems too.
In this study, the traffic problem of Istanbul at the beginning of the XX. century and accidents which were caused by trolleys were held in this chaotic situation of the empire.

Raylı ulaşım sistemlerinden birisi olan tramvay İstanbul'da, Dersaadet Tramvay Şirketi'nin kurulmasıyla, önce atlı daha sonra elektrikli olarak hizmet vermeye başlamıştır. Ancak XX. yüzyıl başlarında imparatorluğun yaşadığı kaos, ulaşım sistemine de yansımıştır.
Bu çalışmada İstanbul'un yüzyıl başlarındaki trafik sorunu ve tramvayların neden olduğu kazalar bu kaos ortamında ele alınarak değerlen¬dirilmiştir.
