Abstract (2. Language):
In this article, the relationship between defense expenditures and
economic growth has been dealt with. The author has tried to find the influence
coefficients of defense expenditures over the economic growth in various
countries through econometric model and by citing two different views, one of
which states that the effect of defense expenditures on economic growth is
towards increasing the economic growth and one of which states that the effect
of defense expenditures on economic growth is towards decreasing the
economic growth.
The author has set out with the assertion that effect of defense
expenditures on economic growth is positive (towards increasing the economic
growth) and the results of the econometric models have proved this assertion.

Bu çalısmada savunma harcamaları ile ekonomik büyüme arasındaki
iliski incelenmeye çalısılmıstır. Savunma harcamaları ile ekonomik büyümeye
etkisinin artırıcı veya azaltıcı olduğuna ait iki farklı görüse de yer verilerek bir
ekonometrik model yardımıyla çesitli ülkelerde savunma harcamalarının
ekonomik büyümeye etki kat sayıları bulunmaya çalısılmıstır.
Gelismis ülkelerde savunma harcamalarının ekonomik büyüme üzerinde
etkisinin pozitif (artırıcı) olduğu savı ile hareket edilmis; ekonometrik
modellerden de bu savı doğrulayan sonuçlar alınmıstır.
