Abstract (2. Language):
With the primary purpose of protecting individuals or households from financial burden of unexpected ill health, health financing is ensured by making differential use of financial resources collected in different ways. An equitable health financing system means that the distribution of financial risk faced by individuals or households due to the costs of health care must be in accordance with the ability to pay. A variety of financing methods used in various combinations in different countries have impacts on equity. In this article, information on the relationship between health financing and equity is provided by different financing methods in terms of horizontal and vertical equity.
