Abstract (Original Language):
The passive voice has been an area of intereşt to linguists since theheginning of early studies in Lingustics . İn Traditional grammar , the passive hâs been analy-zed on the basis of the way it is used. İn later studies, the relationship between active and passive sentences has been inveştigated and attempts to account for this relationship have been continuous. The relation of passive to active sentences provi ded one of the prime arguments for the superiority of trans formational theory över other types of linguistic descrfption.
