Abstract (2. Language):
The purpose of this study was to investigate the fluoride release and pH properties of three different glass ionomer cements and compare the pH zones of the materials due to time periods. For. this aim, Ketac - Cem, Aqua - Cem and Chem - Fil glass ionomer cements were used. Acid diffusion assay methodology was applied to measure the acid zones and initial pH values of the materials. Fluoride diffusion methodology was used to determine the amount of fluoride releases of the materials (n = 4). Findings were evaluated by using Kruskal - Wallis statistical method. The highest fluoride release was obtained from Ketac - Cem material. Aqua - Cem and Chem - FU materials followed Ketac - Cem cement. Differences between the materials were found significant (p = 0.007). The lowest initial pH was also obtained from Ketac -Cem material and it was followed by Aqua - Cem and Chem - Fil. Significant differences were found between the materials (p = 0.007). The biggest acid zone was obtained from Ketac- Cem and the smallest zone from Chem-Fil for three time periods and the differences were found statistical significant (p = 0.006).
