Abstract (2. Language):
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of saliva contamination on the compressive strength and hardness of six temporary and permanent luting cements. The Kpecimcnts were made in accordance with ADA specification. Cement samples, 12 mm, high and 6 mm. in diameter were prepared in the split mold. Half of samples for each material contaminated with artificial saliva during mixing procedure. The samples of control group were not contamineted with artificial saliva. After 24 hours, compressive strength test were applied. Hardness test were applied after samples preperation. According to compressive strength test, when control groups and groups have saliva contamination were compared statistically difference was significant. Result of hardness test shows that saliva contamination decreased the hardness of luting cements.
