Laparoscopic surgery is often preferred in recent years due to its advantages such as rapid wound healing and good aesthetics results. Although it’s a less painful process compared to open surgery, pain is seen after laparoscopic surgery depending on many factors. Despite various treatments and procedures to prevent the pain and relieve the developed pain, postoperative pain problem is not yet resolved. There are major responsibilities of nurses in the management of pain after surgery. In this review, development and mechanism of laparoscopic surgery, causes of pain and importance of nursing care in pain management were narrated.

Laparoskopik cerrahi; hızlı yara iyileşmesi ve iyi estetik sonuç gibi avantajları nedeniyle son yıllarda sıklıkla tercih edilmektedir. Açık cerrahi ile kıyaslandığında daha düşük ağrı verici bir işlem olmasına rağmen, birçok faktöre bağlı olarak laparoskopik cerrahi sonrası ağrı görülmektedir. Ağrı gelişmesini önlemek ve gelişen ağrıyı gidermek için kullanılan çeşitli tedavi ve uygulamalara rağmen ameliyat sonrası ağrı konusu henüz çözümlenebilmiş değildir. Ameliyat sonrası gelişen ağrı yönetiminde hemşirelerin büyük sorumlulukları bulunmaktadır. Bu derlemede laparoskopik cerrahi gelişimi, mekanizması, ağrı oluşturan nedenler ve ağrı yönetiminde hemşirelik bakımının önemine yer verildi.
